firsty Semester Advanced Arcane

This is the first class of then new summer and fall semester. It was going to be taught be an old mage named Gard who had unforunately taken an extended leave due to a fire fiasco with his pet dragon Lin. As such the class will now be taugh by the GHeadmast of the University Elrith Eldwend, Who will perhaps teach the students some of his signeture magics. or maybe take them on a feild trip to the other plains.

*elrith entered the Class room quietly. the bell would ring soon. He headed over to the podium that looked out at the large room, this took place in the south hall and was the the most saught after class thanks to Dr. gard's unorthadox teaching methods and was called a one time experience. False, since one could take the class as many times as one liked. Elrith decided to wait in the office though. and headed to the back door and entered into the neat and tidy area.*

'First day... wonder who will show up here."

*This class was offered to students and staff. And as he took out and primed his pipe he heard the sound of a chior sing the first few measures of an Opra... strange. the bell was normally more of a magical or a march. hmmm.*

"So it begins."

Grim saw the man walk into the room. A quick sweep of his mind told her that he was the headmaster, for now teaching this class.

She had gotten her books from the infuriatingly awesome librarian, hoping to not be the only one in this class. Grim wanted to learn something about magic the way these people used it, something she had been hoping to get a chance at witnessing.

Gliding over to the open door to the class, she stood gaurd outside, watching as students and teachers scurried about their duties. A mob of students made their way towards her. Grim stared, wide-eyed. She hadn't expected this many people. Reenforcing the one way block to their thoughts, she follwed the students in, invisible as she took a seat in the back corner.

Just some other freak in the corner. Peechy.

How can thbe happening?!?

Cutting it tight around another corner, William found himself, once again, at a dead end, "You have got to be KIDDING ME!" he yelled, slamming a fist into the stone, doing absolutly nothing to it, and slightly brusing his hand, "OW!"

Rubbing his hand, Will then turned around, looking back down the hall. Standing there, he looked like some punk kid, black shorts too long and baggy, yet snug around the waist, along with a black T-shirt with the words "Saliva" printed across. Along one ear, he sported a newly won earing of a tooth, black in color and down the side of his neck on either side, lined tattoos would run down under shirt, in colors blue, black and violet.

Grumbling some, he then looked left then right, "Mk, no ones watchng. Lets see if we can look like a bad ass...."

Putting his hands out, he cut through the air several hand signs, then grabbing his right wrist, all fingers extended, light would snak from all of his fingers, wrapping around his body and pulling him forward, his body dissappering into the light.

Spinning through an almost watery substance, he suddenly found himself standing in the back of the room as people slowly filed in. Not seeing the teacher anywhere, some Gord guy, Will slipped into the desk closest by

*Elrith exited the office. and smiled. He knew every student. except for Grim. odd that he hadnt met that one yet. he metally made a note to know more about her later.*

"Welcome to the first semester of Advanced Arcane. you may be wondering where professor Gord is. he had an acident and will not be able to be here this entire term. As such i will be filling in for his classes."

*He took a last drag from his pipe before putting it out and setting it aside. One or two of the new students where suprised to see a man in his late twenties teaching a class normaly taught be a guy over 200 and in the shape of a 18 year old. He glanced around and his eyes caught on Mr. Emmbers.*

"Now then... to start i would like to see what you know about magic, and its different catagories and two main kingdoms. Mr. Emmbers, How much do you know of this?"

*He asked. his amber eyes showing only to Will as his glasses glare blocked them from th efew of the other students. He glanced at Grim as well. As he did the glare vanished so she could see his eyes as well.*

Nooooo, don't look at mmeeee..... Grim whined to herself after Will appeared and Elrith took his place at the front. Ducking her head down as if she were writting notes, as to avoid making eye contact, she willed her eyes to change to white. Pressing her pen to the notebook she had brought, she felt it snap between her fingers, ink splattering the wall.

"Fuck." She whispered, giving up on making her eyes change. Sticking out a hesitant hand, she slowly slid a finger through the ink on the wall, creating an evil looking smiley face.
She smiled at it before returning her attention to the front.

She drummed her fingers lightly under the table, looking around the classroon. She took in the walls, ceiling, desks, people; she tried not to glance at Elrith or Will, knowing what they already wore.

Grim wipped the remaining ink on her notebook and pants. That was all you. Smooth.

Head back, eyes rolled into his head, legs slouched to one side of his desk, William would look almost dead. He hated getting up early, and of all the times his AA class had to be, it was in the morning.

Snapping to attention, catching his last name somewhere from the room, he noticed that the teacher had arrived. Not quite what he imagined for and advanced class, but honestly, he had never met Mr. Gard before, and so would never know the difference to the man in the front of the room.

Having heard the question, but not having even come close to thinking of opening his newly bought book of spells and teq. he really had no idea how to answer the question. In this case, and answer out of his ass is what he needed, and is just where the answer came from, even though it really was true.

"Well....I know that too much will hurt you....And....Summoning take a lot more then just mana and a rusty portal made from sword slashes....."

*elrith chuckled at the memory of the dagon summoning. Mr. Emmbers must not be fully awake, as he hadnt recognized elrith obviously, however that was unimportant. he finished his chuckled and reasponded.*

"True... Very true... now them, i assume not any of you opened your books and read the introduction?"

*He saw no one move at first and so accepted it.*

"I see... Well no problem. to sum it up there are many types of magic, however they fall under two Kingdoms of magic in total, like an animal speacies map."

*He paused as several of the more alof students got back to reality and others opened notebooks and laptop... he thought they were called those, to him they just looked like plastic boxes with a lightbulb. he digressed.*

"These two kingdoms are the well know Mana... and the lesser known Arcane magics."

*A student in the back voiced the question of what the difference was.*

"Ah, thank you, i was just getting to that."

*He gave a nod and walked up to the nearest desk, opening the draw on the right hand side. And withdrawing a pair of odd glasses, they were amber in color and seemed almost opaque.*

"These glasses are enchanted to give you the ability to see the Mana and Arcane magic in there pure states... however i only want you to take them out and set them aside, for now please do not put them on quite yet."

*He set the glasses on the students desk and returned to the front of the room. raising his right hand he channele a large amount of energy into his palm as cause a blue orb to form, blue vapors escaping from the orb.*

"This is highly consentrated Mana energy... the most common form of practiced magic, Arcane is use in advanced healing for the most part. Many of you more experienced mages will recognize this spell as."

*He took aim at a line of dummies in the corner and let five bue beams streak from the orb and inpact them, causing them to combust, they then reanimated a short time later.*

"Magic missile... a bacis mage attack spell, like all basic spells however... Magic missile can be used by both Mana and Arcane magic... as well as other spells that are more advanced... *his eyes wandered to Mr. Emmbers.* Such as summoning spells."

*He held up his left hand and channeled a large amount of white light into it, the hand iself glowed, he shot his hand forward, a small Phenix forming mid air infront on his hand. he moved through several Tai Chi forms as the Phenox respoaned to his comaned, then dissmissed it.*

"That was Arcane use.... as i said before Arcane magic and Mana magic can be interchanged by the user for certain spells, though most require one or the other.... well then, Whose up for a little feild trip?"

*He asked with a grin. his left hand shining again behind his back would go mostly unnoticed save by the more perseptive students.*

Grim watched with curiosity, noting how Elrith's hands and body moved and worked with the magic flow. She also dully noted how some of the students shuffled every few minutes, a wave or flutter and shift throughout the room.

Grim herself sat stock-still, barely blinking. She only moved when something tried to crawl up her shirt. Grabbing the spider-formed piece of paper, she turned her head to see a group of boys in the opposite corner giggling. She crumpled the note and stuck it in her mouth after giving them her death glare and turning back to the front.

Let's just stay here. If we go somewhere, a few little boys might get lost. We don't want that to happen, now, do we?

Feeling slightly smug for answering the question without aid of anyone and having not been paying attention, William would only feel this for a short time, the shock of who was at the front of the room nearly knocking him out of his chair. What the fuck?

Will now sat up more, paying close attention to Mr. Eldwind, but came to quick realization that this first semester may be much easer then he had anticipated. This thought's reason for existence being that he could already see the mana in the room and about them by simply controlling his own mana and filing it into his eyes, the increased mana energy to his optic nerve allowing him to see nearly all types of energy, heat, gamma, and of coarse, mana. It was odd though that as Elrith used magic missile, a spell in which William himself had only ever cast once and it nearly killed him, he was blinded by the mana, but when he used his arcane spell, there was nothing to sense but the increased energy texture in the air.

William would most likely never open much to arcane magic, simply for the fact that it looked as if it might take some spiritual energy to use it, something Will was just too weary to use, seeing the state of his own soul and the little packages it came with.

It finally came to his attention of the girl sitting next to him hadn't moved at all, Will now coming to recognize her from the courtyard. This class should be fairly interesting.

Karin, always fashionably late, walked into the classroom just as Eldwind-sama finished his question about the field trip.

"Sensei-san, I would absolutely love to go on a field trip."

Her lips curled into a smile, her fingers holding a pink piece of paper. It had a little note scratched onto it. As she moved to the front, she hand the note out to Elrith, she bowing after he took the note from her.

[color=blue]"Sensei-sama, I apologize for being late..." She had bowed yet again, showing her respect in a higher manner towards Elrith.

(Uhm, do we have dorms here..? If so... Then I've had Karin leave most of her unimportant things there... There being her dorm room...)

The note had her script handwriting lacing the pink parchment with the blackest ink ever imagined. It read: "I apologize for showing up late and disturbing class in any form or fashion. Forgive me, Sensei-sama." Then her signature was placed neatly with a kanji symbol of love next to it.

She noticed everyone, but particularly a female with smudged ink on her pants, and a boy with shorts that were too baggy... Inwardly chuckling, she stayed standing at the front, finding no reason to leave her place if they were going on a "field trip."

*He smiled as he looked at the new student. then thought about his missed lecture by him that she needed to know, he was basing the entire class on it.*

"I dont suppose you took a more resposable approach to this school year and read the first chapter in prepareation Ms.?"

*He posed two questions, one as to if she had read the book, and another as to her name. He also began gathering magic into his palms so as to prepare for th efeild trip.*

' this is goingt to be tiring for a class this big... should be fun ' he thought to himself.

She allowed her lips to curl yet again. Smiling became a habit when people weren't out to kill her on sight. With another bow, she answered his question.

"Yes, Sensei-sama, I have read the introduction to Chapter I, it was interesting... I know a little about both Mana and Arcane magics... My name is Sasamori Karin."

She then slipped her bag off of her shoulders and onto the floor, her hands moving to cup around his. Those long tendrils of dark honey brown seemingly stood on end as she, too, gathered 'magic' to help him out. A class this large would more than likely exhaust Sensei-san to an extreme. She wouldn't want that at all.

Upon noting his thought, she answered him back, 'This is going to be tiring... But fun is a better way to look at it...'

Grim felt the bland, chalky taste of smugness come from Will, but it quickly disappeared. She realized she had seen the boy before, tasted the same little aftertaste before.

A new conscience entered her field, just as the girl rushed in. Her speaking to Elrith was discarded, her eagerness and helpfulness a gag pinching Grim's throat.

Too.... Nice.... Blagh....

Letting her mind finger out, she brushed the boys' from across the room. A few differant tones, but all thinking the same thing. She directed the thoughts from the boys towards Elrith, then her own feelings.

Please don't. I'm asking nicely, for their sake. Please don't. She retreated, desiding that if this didn't work, she was just going to have to live with some 'Whoop-sies' and 'Oh look, a cliff...' and some Jerks.

The deviant side of Karin curled against her as she looked over, hands still collecting and sharing the magics with Sensei-san, at the ink splotted girl.

With a sadistic smirk now placed on her lips, she chuckled easily. It was light, but laced with evil. Another expression before she then shared her thoughts with Grim, and only Grim.

Having went through the basics of this female entity's mind, Karin noted the basics of the girl. Name: Grim... Odd, more or less a nick name... Personality: Distant, loner, independent.

'Grim, darling, nice is only a word... It may appear I am "sweet" but that is no where near who I really am... Let's take some time and get to know one another, shall we?'

She then cut her mind off from any distractions, her thoughts blocked from being tapped into. If anyone was to even try, a wall decorated in harsh kanji along the lines of 'death' 'blood' 'demon' 'fuck you' and others appeared in heavy black ink with a pissed off looking Karin wagging her middle finger at you, her tongue even stuck out and one eye winking.

Cute? Hell yea'. ( ^_^; A/N: I love this chaaaraacterrr... w00t n.n; )

Her hands then focused to double up the power she harnessed, it only being 20% and almost matching Sensei-san's.
